Gaming has become so famous during the pandemic, especially ones that connect you online with friends. And there are a lot of games that are so addictive that you can’t live without it when you start playing. And one of them is PUBG. But the Indian government banned it in Sep, 2020 due to security reasons. Now everyone is asking “when will PUBG coming back in India” or “Is PUBG coming back in India”. And the clear answer is “absolutely Yes”, but that was not the case, two months ago. So, what miracle had happened in the last two months, let’s find it out.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) was one of the most popular games in India. It was an online multiplayer (up to a hundred players) battle royale game (played between many individual players). In this game, players parachute onto an island and search for weapons and equipment to kill others while avoiding getting killed themselves. The available safe area of the game’s map decreases in size over time, directing surviving players into tighter areas to force encounters. The last player or team standing wins the round and the most soothing thing “Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner” shows on the screen. People of various ages especially youngsters love to play the game so much.
But shocking news came that PUBG Mobile India has been banned by the Indian Government ever since September 2, 2020, along with 116 other apps due to security reasons. PUBG Mobile was banned in the country under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act. The ban stated that the app is engaged in activities that are prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity, defence, and security of the country.
It was because of the presence of the Chinese entity of Tencent (a Chinese multinational technology conglomerate holding company). When the ban was put in place, Tencent was removed as one of the entities and PUBG Mobile worked hard to ensure that there was no Chinese connection to the App.

People of India (especially teenagers) were too upset by this but with their cool and peaceful mindset, they prioritized Indian security above than playing PUBG. Then people switched to play other games like COD, FreeFire, among us, etc. but they always had a question in their mind “Is PUBG Mobile coming back to India?”. However recently there was a piece of news from strong sources that PUBG is coming back to India. After this news, people get too excited and very happy about this. The news tells that there are no security issues anymore and PUBG has no connection with China. South Korean games developer Krafton, the creator of PUBG, launched PUBG’s new version in India — Battlegrounds Mobile India. The new game, which marks PUBG’s comeback in India, has a period of pre-registration starting from 18 May 2021 before the launch and is available to play only in India.
